The black-throated accentor is a small passerine found in the Ural, Tian Shan and Altai Mountains, migratory and wintering in Afghanistan and neighbouring countries. It has a streaked dark brown back somewhat like a house sparrow's, but adults have a black crown, face patch and throat and a white eyebrow, an orange breast and a white belly with orange stripes, and an insectivore's fine pointed bill; the dark throat may be almost absent in young birds (Wikipedia, general species account).
It builds a neat nest low in spruce thickets, laying three to five unspotted blue eggs. The call is a fine ti-ti-ti and the song is like the dunnock's pleasant twittering. The cached account does not describe its Indian range. SoIB 2023 lists it as a winter migrant of open habitat that eats invertebrates, without a priority category (Wikipedia, general species account; SoIB 2023).
