Western Ghats, Kerala; type locality near Beypore, Malabar district
The five-fingered skink is a skink reported from the Western Ghats of India. Almost nothing is known of it: females of other species in the genus give birth to live young, and because the only known specimen was lost, its true identity, origin and correct genus must wait for fresh material (Wikipedia, general species account, citing Srinivasulu and Srinivasulu 2013).
The type locality is Kadal Undi near Beypore in Kerala, Malabar district. Its inclusion as an Indian species rests on this single, lost specimen.
