The long-tailed grass lizard, also called the Asian or six-striped long-tailed grass lizard, is a day-active lizard of South-east Asia, native to countries including India, China, Thailand and Indonesia. The tail is usually over three times the length of the head and body, which on average is about 12 cm, and it is described as prehensile. Males and females look similar, males being identified by pre-anal pores (Wikipedia, general species account).
It emerges in the early morning to bask in the sun and feeds on small insects such as flies, with extremely fast reactions; individuals have been seen jumping into the air to catch flying prey. The Reptile Database lists Sikkim, Assam and Mizoram in India.
