The Nilgiri striped squirrel, or pygmy striped squirrel, is a small squirrel of rainforests in the southern Western Ghats, including the Nilgiris. Very little is known of it. It is probably the smallest in its genus, weighing about 40 g (Wikipedia, general species account).
It was once treated as including the squirrel from Sri Lanka, which is now a separate species, so its range is now restricted to the Western Ghats of India and older records need updating. The cached account gives nothing more on its diet, behaviour or breeding (Wikipedia, general species account).
