Habitat
Montane evergreen forest, shola forest, forest patches, grasslands, tea plantations; 1,780-2,465m
Range
Endemic to the Western Ghats (Nilgiri Hills)
Raorchestes signatus is a frog of the family Rhacophoridae endemic to the Western Ghats, and has been observed between 1,780 and 2,465 metres above sea level. This arboreal frog has been seen in montane evergreen forests, shola forests, patches of forest and, occasionally, towns, grasslands and tea plantations (Wikipedia, general species account).
Like other frogs in Raorchestes, it breeds through direct development, with no free-swimming tadpole stage. The Nilgiri Hills where it lives are warmer than previously, which has increased encroachment by invasive species such as eucalyptus and acacia trees (Wikipedia, general species account).
