The Shompen frog (Limnonectes shompenorum) is found on Great Nicobar Island in India, its type locality, and in western Sumatra in Indonesia. The name refers to the Shompen people, the indigenous people of the interior of Great Nicobar. Adult females measure 72-88 mm in snout-vent length and one male measured 84 mm (Wikipedia, general species account).
It is similar to Limnonectes macrodon and feeds on relatively large prey: the stomachs of the type series held beetles, a cockroach and a small unidentified frog (Wikipedia, general species account).
