Tickell's leaf warbler is a leaf warbler found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Thailand. It has a yellowish underside and eyebrow, and the clear yellowish undersides and lack of a wing bar tell it from similar species; it has slim dark legs, a largely pale lower mandible and a greyish wing panel. An active bird, it prefers the canopy and low shrubbery and moves actively from branch to branch, exploring the undersides of leaves and twigs, feeding mostly on insects by gleaning and short sallies (Wikipedia, general species account).

Between May and August it makes a nest of dry grasses and plant fibres, breeding among rocks and low bushes in barren mountains. SoIB 2023 rates it a Low conservation priority, a within-India migrant and winter migrant of non-specialised habitat with a Large range of about 285,000 km² and a decline of about 55% over the long term (Wikipedia, general species account; SoIB 2023).
