The white-tailed eagle, sometimes called the sea eagle, ern or grey sea eagle, is a large bird of prey widely distributed across temperate Eurasia. It is one of up to eleven species of sea eagle, forms a species pair with the bald eagle, and is a member of the hawk family. Males, the slightly smaller sex, may typically weigh 3.1–5.4 kg (Wikipedia, general species account).

Some populations have recovered well after government protection, habitat and nest-site protection, controls on poaching and pesticides, and careful reintroduction into former range. The cached account is mostly about Europe and the Hawaiian fossil relatives, and gives no detail specific to India. SoIB 2023 lists it as a winter migrant of wetland that eats vertebrates and carrion, without a priority category (Wikipedia, general species account; SoIB 2023).
