Range
Tale Wildlife Sanctuary, Lower Subansiri District, Arunachal Pradesh
Xenophrys apatani is a horned toad of the family Megophryidae, discovered in Arunachal Pradesh in north-east India, where it is found in Tale Wildlife Sanctuary in the Lower Subansiri District. It lives in the leaf litter (Wikipedia, general species account).
It is dark brown with large mottling on the back and a typical dark triangular patch between the eyes. Its description led to the conclusion that the earlier report of Xenophrys maosonensis from India was incorrect (Wikipedia, general species account).
