Devaka's fan-throated lizard is a recently described agamid, first found in Puttalam district of Sri Lanka. It was long treated as a subspecies or colour variant of the more widely distributed Pondichéry fan-throated lizard, and it lives in open scrub jungle. It is named for Devaka K. Weerakoon of the University of Colombo (Wikipedia, general species account, which is a stub).
The Reptile Database lists Tamil Nadu in India, but the account used here says the lizard there has not been given a valid identification, so its Indian occurrence is unconfirmed. No further description or ecology was found.
