Firouzophrynus olivaceus
Habitat
Irrigated land, springs, oases and other wetlands below 700m, in semi-desert with date palms
Range
South-eastern Iran and western Pakistan; one isolated record in Gurgaon District, Haryana, India
Firouzophrynus olivaceus, the olive toad, also called the Baluchistan coastal toad or Makran toad, is found in south-eastern Iran and western Pakistan, and its presence in Afghanistan and India is doubtful. The first Indian record came from an apparently isolated population in Gurgaon District, Haryana (Wikipedia, general species account; published India record).
It occurs where water is available, such as irrigated land, springs, oases and other wetlands, at elevations below 700 m, in a mostly semi-desert landscape with date palms. It breeds in ponds and oases, is adaptable and often depends on human-made habitats, and can be locally common (Wikipedia, general species account).
