Soman's slender armed frog, Leptobrachium somani, was described in 2025–26 in a review of the genus Leptobrachium in India. It was found at Tiwarigaon in the Lower Dibang Valley and has silver-grey to light-blue eyes. It honours the journalist E. Somanath. (web summaries of the original description).
