Range
Source: China, Taiwan and much of Southeast Asia; introduced to Guam
Clutch size
400-500 eggs
Polypedates braueri is a frog of the family Rhacophoridae. The source gives its native range as tropical and subtropical China, Taiwan and large parts of Southeast Asia, and does not mention India, so its Indian occurrence rests on the species database. It has been introduced to Guam, has been seen from sea level up to 2,200 metres, and has been found in forests, bamboo groves and orchards (Wikipedia, general species account).
The female builds a foam nest on a plant overhanging a pool and lays 400-500 eggs at a time; when they hatch the tadpoles fall into the water below. The frogs lay over many types of water but seem to prefer dense vegetation and shallow water (Wikipedia, general species account).
