Polypedates megacephalus, the Hong Kong whipping frog or spot-legged tree frog, is a shrub frog of the family Rhacophoridae. In its native range it is also called the brown tree frog, a name otherwise given to a species of the true tree frog family, Hylidae (Wikipedia, general species account).

It was previously thought to be distributed above the Red River of Vietnam and in north-east India, while P. leucomystax was generally found south of the Red River and in western Yunnan. The cached account says little else, so the Indian range is uncertain from this source (Wikipedia, general species account).
