Range
Endemic to Eravikulam National Park, Kerala (Anamudi summit, 2,695m)

Males 23-25mm; females 25-28mm
Raorchestes resplendens has extremely short limbs and numerous macroglands. It was discovered on the Anamudi summit (2,695 m) in the Western Ghats of Kerala and is known only from Eravikulam National Park. It is a medium-sized frog by the standards of its small genus: males grow to 23-25 mm in snout-vent length and females to 25-28 mm (Wikipedia, general species account).
It is a ground-dwelling species, whereas most Raorchestes are typically found on vegetation above the ground. Females burrow their eggs under the moss-covered forest floor, deep inside the base of bamboo clumps, and parents do not tend the eggs. Froglets are fully mobile on hatching and measure about 4.5 mm (Wikipedia, general species account).
