Thought native to southern Bangladesh and northern Myanmar

The red serow, or Burmese red serow, is a goat-antelope thought to be native to southern Bangladesh and northern Myanmar. It has sometimes been considered a subspecies of the mainland serow. In December 2023 a red serow was found in Sunamganj District in north-eastern Bangladesh (Wikipedia, general species account).

Poaching is a severe problem in Myanmar and India despite legal protection. The cached account is only a few lines long, and the mammal range data mark India for this species with a question mark, so its occurrence in India cannot be stated from the sources used (Wikipedia, general species account).
