Maya's pit viper is a venomous pit viper endemic to north-eastern India. All known records are from elevations above 900 m, so lowland areas may act as a biogeographic barrier. Males have a deep green back and fluorescent green belly with black skin between the scales, a dark green head with cyan-bordered scales, rust-coloured eyes and red-white stripes on the body (Wikipedia, general species account).

Females are similar but have a yellowish-green belly and green eyes. The Reptile Database lists Mizoram and Manipur.
