The verditer flycatcher is an Old World flycatcher found from the Himalaya through Southeast Asia to Sumatra. Adult males are intense blue on all areas of the body except for the black eye-patch and grey vent, while adult females and sub-adults are lighter blue. It is interesting among the flycatchers in that it forages above the canopy level and perches on electric wires or exposed tree-top branches. It was earlier placed in Muscicapa and it has been suggested that it is closer to the Niltava flycatchers (Wikipedia, general species account).
The cached account gives no measurements or breeding information. SoIB 2023 rates it a Low conservation priority, a within-India migrant and winter migrant of forest and plantation with a Large range of about 802,000 km² and stable trends (Wikipedia, general species account; SoIB 2023).
