Basic stats

Habitat

Tree cavities; found on Philippine islands

Range

Philippine islands of Bohol, Leyte, Samar, Biliran, Panaon, Mindanao, Basilan and Samal

The buff-spotted flameback is found on the Philippine islands of Bohol, Leyte, Samar, Biliran, Panaon, Mindanao, Basilan and Samal, and was formerly treated as the same species as the greater flameback along with the other Philippine flamebacks. It is typically seen in pairs or family parties and may sometimes associate with the white-bellied woodpecker. It presumably feeds on insects and wood-boring larvae and nests in tree cavities (Wikipedia, general species account).

The cached account does not describe any occurrence in India, and the species is not in SoIB 2023, so its status on the Indian list should be checked. The very similar greater flameback lays two to five eggs that incubate in two weeks and fledge within a month (Wikipedia, general species account).
