It has been reported from Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh in north-western India, but evidence indicates it occurs only in the Chamba Valley in Himachal Pradesh (Wikipedia, general species account).

Multi-male groups can include as many as five adult males. The birthing season runs from January to June, with almost half the infants born in March, and the interbirth interval for females is about 2.4 years. Young are weaned late, at about 25 months on average, and other group members help care for them for up to five months (Wikipedia, general species account).
