The Eurasian griffon vulture is a large Old World vulture, 93–122 cm long with a wingspan of 2.3–2.8 m. It looks like a typical Old World vulture, with a white head, broad wings, short tail feathers, a white neck ruff and a yellow bill. In the nominate race males weigh 6.2–10.5 kg and females 6.5–10.5 kg, while in the Indian subspecies the vultures average 7.1 kg (Wikipedia, general species account).
The cached account is mostly about European birds: the Spanish population is over 90% of the European total, with about 31,000 breeding pairs in 2018, and on Crete birds live in mountainous areas, sometimes in groups of up to 20. It gives nothing specific to India beyond the Indian subspecies. SoIB 2023 rates it a High conservation priority: a winter migrant of open habitat with a rapid long-term decline of about 83% and a current decline of 7% a year (Wikipedia, general species account; SoIB 2023).
