The Himalayan buzzard is a medium to large bird of prey that was formerly considered a subspecies of the widespread common buzzard. It is native to the Himalaya in Nepal and India and the adjacent mountains of southern China. It was formerly named Buteo burmanicus, but that name is now known to have been applied earlier to the migratory mainland Asian subspecies of the eastern buzzard, so the Himalayan buzzard was renamed Buteo refectus (Wikipedia, general species account).

The cached account is short and gives no measurements, diet or breeding information. SoIB 2023 lists it as a resident and winter migrant of non-specialised habitat that eats vertebrates and carrion, without a priority category (Wikipedia, general species account; SoIB 2023).
