Basic stats

Habitat

Size

Males 14-18mm; females 21mm

Liurana medogensis, the Medog papilla-tongued frog, is found in Mêdog County in Tibet and in Arunachal Pradesh in north-eastern India. It is known from only four adult specimens: males from the type series in Mêdog County measure 14-18 mm in snout-vent length, and females from Arunachal Pradesh 21 mm (Wikipedia, general species account).

One of the females had three large eggs visible through the skin, which suggests direct development with no free-living larval stage, though other observations suggest larval development in water. The frog has been found in both undisturbed and disturbed forest (Wikipedia, general species account).
