Middle East, Aegean islands and Algeria east to Pakistan and, at the edge of its range, north-western India
Size
Females up to 150cm; males usually about 110cm
The blunt-nosed viper, also called the Lebetine viper or Levant viper, is a large venomous viper found on islands in the Aegean Sea, in Algeria and in much of the Middle East, as far east as India. Females reach about 150 cm in total length, and males are usually about 110 cm. The snout is rounded and blunt when seen from above, and the back scales are strongly keeled except those bordering the belly. Six subspecies are recognised (Wikipedia, general species account).
The Reptile Database lists Jammu and Kashmir for India, so India is at the edge of its range. The account used here gives no information on its Indian habitat or habits.
