It has since been recorded in India: in Manipur, in Mizoram, and most recently in Shillong and Cherrapunjee in Meghalaya, where three males were collected from paddy fields and ephemeral pools in March 2024, extending its known range north by 260 km (Wikipedia, general species account; published India records).
The male snout-vent length is 29.1-30.0 mm and the female 33.4 mm. The basic colour varies from olive green to greenish brown, and males have a butterfly-shaped vocal marking. It breeds in temporary pools. Males call for females, and females prefer choruses to single or few calling males (Wikipedia, general species account).
