Pteruthius flaviscapis
Range
Endemic to Java, according to the cached account
The cached account describes the pied shrike-babbler as traditionally considered an aberrant Old World babbler in the family Timaliidae, though it seems to belong to an Asian offshoot of the American vireos and may well belong in the Vireonidae, its habits having long been noted as resembling vireos'. The account says it is endemic to Java and was formerly considered a subspecies of the white-browed shrike-babbler (Wikipedia, general species account).
The cached account does not describe any occurrence in India, and the species is not in SoIB 2023, so its place on the Indian list should be checked; the Java endemic in this account appears to be a different taxon from the Himalayan pied shrike-babbler, so no Indian range is recorded (Wikipedia, general species account).
