Raorchestes sanjappai, the Periya bush frog or Sanjappa's bush frog, is endemic to the Western Ghats and known only from about 750 m at its type locality of Periya in Wayanad district, Kerala, north of the Palghat Gap. It is a small species with a male snout-vent length of 22-24 mm. Scientists do not know much about it, and its resemblance to other Raorchestes makes its true range hard to determine (Wikipedia, general species account).

It was seen inside secondary forest, on vegetation up to 3 m high in the breeding season. The back colouring extends onto the upper surfaces of the fore and hind limbs and the loreal and tympanic regions. Males produce a single type of call of widely spaced pulses, and the frog breeds through direct development (Wikipedia, general species account).
