The tundra bean goose breeds in northern Siberia and is migratory, wintering farther south in Asia. The bill is black at the base and tip with an orange band across the middle, and the legs and feet are bright orange. The upper wing coverts are dark brown, as in the white-fronted geese, but with narrow white fringes to the feathers. Length ranges from 68 to 90 cm, wingspan 140–174 cm and weight 1.7–4 kg (Wikipedia, general species account).
The tundra and taiga bean geese diverged about 2.5 million years ago and made secondary contact about 60,000 years ago, with extensive gene flow, and they are treated as separate species by some authorities and as one species, the bean goose, by others. The cached account gives no detail specific to India. SoIB 2023 lists it as a winter migrant of wetlands that eats plants and seeds, and does not assign a priority category (Wikipedia, general species account; SoIB 2023).
