Uperodon variegatus, the Eluru dot frog, also called the termite nest frog, variegated ramanella or variegated globular frog, is a narrow-mouthed frog endemic to India. Earlier records from Sri Lanka refer to what is now known as Uperodon rohani. The frogs are seen mostly in the monsoon season, when they may enter homes (Wikipedia, general species account).

They breed during the rainy season, April to October, and call during this time; males call at night while afloat in water, with a call transcribed as "ghauy ghauy". They breed in water in dark cavities and are often found in termite mounds or under stones. The tadpoles are brown or grey with black spots, sometimes with a blue spot on each side, feed on the bottom and metamorphose within a month (Wikipedia, general species account).
