Andaman and Little Andaman Islands
The Andaman cobra, or Andaman spitting cobra, is a cobra endemic to the Andaman and Little Andaman Islands of India; its name comes from the islands. Adults come in three colour patterns, one of which is uniformly glossy black above with an indistinct black monocle mark on the hood, glossy dark grey below, and a black head with pale white patches on the shields (Wikipedia, general species account).
Juveniles have a broad black crossband on the throat or underside of the neck. The account describes tests of venom potency in mice comparing this species with the Indian cobra, and notes that bite effects may progress to full-thickness skin death over 3–7 days. The account used here gives no information on its habitat, diet or breeding.
