The Bombay sea snake, or broad-banded sea snake, is a venomous sea snake native to the Indian Ocean. It is a small snake of about 2 to 2.5 feet, greyish with black bands, and the bands are broader than the gaps between them at midbody, a trait unique among sea snakes of the Indian Ocean. The head is black with small eyes and a rounded snout of moderate length (Wikipedia, general species account).

Little is known of its mating habits; based on the single recorded pregnant female it gives birth to live young, in a brood of three or four, about 12 inches long near birth. The Reptile Database lists Gujarat for India.
