Range

Noa Dihing river near Gandhigram, Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh

Raorchestes sahai, the Sahai bush frog, was found by the Noa Dihing river near Gandhigram in Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh. It has been observed between 600 and 1,200 metres above sea level in dense forest near the river (Wikipedia, general species account).

One was found inside a tree hollow holding rainwater and dead leaves, and others have been seen perched on grass in a swamp. Scientists think it breeds through direct development with no free-swimming tadpole stage, like other Raorchestes, and that it might be the same species as R. parvulus, though more data are needed to confirm this (Wikipedia, general species account).
