Habitat
Reedbeds near water
Range
South and Southeast Asia, from Pakistan and India to China and Indonesia
The streaked weaver is a weaverbird very like the baya weaver but with streaked underparts. It is less common than the baya weaver. The cached species account gives little further description (Wikipedia, general species account).
It nests in small colonies, often in reedbeds near water, and is found across South and South-east Asia from Pakistan and India to China and Indonesia; it has also been introduced to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. SoIB 2023 lists it as a resident wetland bird in India with a moderate range, estimates a long-term decline of about 54%, and rates it a Moderate conservation priority (Wikipedia, general species account; SoIB 2023).
